Safety first

If you ever feel unsafe — call 911

If a situation feels wrong before, during, or after an appointment — leave. No braid is worth your safety. Call 911 first, then reach out to support.

Call 911

Clients will not be billed and you will not receive a negative rating for any cancellation made for safety reasons. Your wellbeing always comes before the booking.

Going online & offline

To start receiving orders, open the app and go to the Home tab. Swipe the slider to the right — it turns green and you're online.

The first time you go online, the app will request location permission. This is required so clients nearby can find you.

Your availability is managed automatically — once you accept an appointment, the app handles your status until the service is complete.

Your status icon shows green when you're available and red when you're not. Swipe left on the same slider to go offline at any time.

How orders work

When a nearby client books with you, your phone receives a push notification with the details: client name, style requested, estimated duration, and your earnings for the job.

You can accept or reject the request. If you reject, please select a reason — it helps us improve. Requests expire automatically if you don't respond in time.

Once accepted, the client's card hold is placed and you move through the appointment statuses:

My Braida retains 28% to cover payment processing, marketing, customer support, and platform costs.

Earnings are transferred to your Stripe Connect account as soon as you mark a service complete. Go to Menu → Wallet to view your balance, pending earnings, and history.

You can adjust your payout schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly) directly from your Stripe dashboard. Stripe issues a 1099-NEC at year-end if you cross the IRS threshold.

Managing your schedule

The primary way to control your availability is the online/offline slider on the Home tab — go online when you're ready to work, offline when you're not.

The Activity tab shows all your upcoming, in-progress, and completed appointments. From there you can message a client, view their address, or cancel if necessary.

Cancellations matter — repeated last-minute cancellations affect your rating and visibility on the platform.

A calendar feature with explicit working hours is currently in development.

Referral program

Invite other braiding artists to join My Braida and you both earn a reward when they complete a qualifying number of appointments.

  • 1Go to Menu → Refer Friends to find your unique referral code.
  • 2Share your code via text, the app, or your contacts.
  • 3Once your friend completes the required appointments, the reward is paid automatically to your Stripe account.

The current reward amount and qualifying appointment count are displayed on the Refer Friends screen.

Account & sign-in security

You can sign in with email + password, Apple, or Google. All three methods access the same account tied to your email address.

If you lose your phone, go to Menu → Account → Security to sign out from all devices and invalidate every active session immediately. You can also change your password or revoke Apple/Google access from there.

Your data is protected: all traffic is HTTPS, the database has row-level security, payment cards are held by Stripe (we only ever see the last 4 digits and card brand), and your photos are stored in private storage with restricted access.

If you notice suspicious activity, sign out everywhere first, then email support.

Delete my account

Go to Menu → Account → Delete account to start the process.

The moment you confirm, your account is hidden, you're signed out, and you stop receiving notifications. You have a 30-day grace period to change your mind — sign back in during that window to cancel the deletion.

After 30 days, your name, email, phone number, photo, and home address are permanently anonymized. Past orders and payments are retained for tax and legal compliance but no longer identify you.

You cannot delete your account while an appointment is in progress or while you have unpaid earnings on your Stripe account. Also note: removing My Braida Pro from your Apple ID settings deletes your account immediately with no 30-day window.
